Russell L. Jecminek

Russell L. Jecminek, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2026. Born on June 18, 1953, in Holyoke, Colorado, Russell was the cherished son of the late Leo and Norma Jecminek. Russell grew up in Holyoke, where he made lasting friendships and memories. He graduated from Holyoke High School in 1972, and shortly thereafter, he answered the call to serve his country. From 1973 to 1976, Russell proudly served in the U.S. Army, a testament to his dedication and love for his nation. After his service, Russell embarked on a unique and adventurous career journey. He loved to travel across the country, always in search of unique items to buy and resell. His keen eye and entrepreneurial spirit were admired by many. Later, he spent much of his career as a taxi cab driver, where he shared stories and made connections with passengers from all walks of life. Russell had a remarkable gift for making everyone around him feel welcome and valued. His kindness and generosity extended beyond those he knew personally, as he touched countless lives throughout his journey. He was a man of genuine character, and his presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Russell was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Norma and Leo Jecminek. He is survived by his loving siblings, Jim Jecminek, Nyla Taylor, and Janis Bulkeley, who will forever cherish his memory and the love they shared. In honor of Russell's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Russell's memory are encouraged to make donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization close to his heart, based in Jacksonville, Florida. Though Russell did not have grandchildren or great-grandchildren, his legacy of warmth and kindness leaves an indelible mark on the hearts of those he encountered. As we remember Russell, may we carry forward his spirit of generosity and embrace the world with the same welcoming heart he shared with us all.
