They were married in 1964, building a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Russ was a loving father to his daughter, Cynthia Messersmith, and his son, Andrew Messersmith. He was a proud grandfather to his granddaughter, Rebecca Messersmith, whom he adored and cherished. His family was his greatest joy, and he was always generous with his time, love, and wisdom. A man of many talents, Russ served proudly in the Navy, where he developed a strong sense of duty and service. His professional journey was as varied and vibrant as his personality. He thrived as a self-employed flooring specialist, sharing his expertise at Home Depot and capturing magical moments as a photographer at Disneyland. Russ was truly a jack of all trades, possessing an innate ability to fix anything and everything, especially cars, which he lovingly worked on as a cherished hobby. Russ was an active member of Landmark Baptist Church, where he found joy in spreading the gospel and sharing his faith. His genuine warmth and way with people made him a beloved member of his community, and his kindness touched the lives of many.
