Born into this world on January 1, 1986, in the warm embrace of Hampton, VA, Russel lived a life filled with laughter, kindness, and an unwavering love that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Russel was the cherished son of Russl and Charlene, who lovingly survive him. His gentle spirit and infectious laughter were the hallmarks of his character, bringing joy and light to all who crossed his path. Russel was preceded in death by his dear sister, whose memory he held close to his heart throughout his life. Russel was a man of many talents and interests. A proud graduate of Wilson High School, he embarked on a journey through life that was marked by hard work, dedication, and an unyielding passion for his chosen vocations. His career as a handy man at the local car wash showcased his remarkable work ethic and his ability to bring a smile to the faces of those he served. Russel's heart was as warm as his culinary creations, and he found immense joy in cooking for his family and friends. His kitchen was a place of laughter and love, where stories were shared, and bonds were strengthened over delicious meals. In his personal life, Russel was a devoted and loving partner. He was blessed to share a deep and abiding connection with his spouse, whom he met during his time in Germany. Their love story was one of mutual respect, understanding, and unwavering support. Though Russel's journey in life has come to a close, his legacy lives on through his cherished family. He leaves behind his loving parents, Russl and Charlene, five grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever carry his memory in their hearts. A celebration of Russel's life will be held on March 21, 2026, at 1:11 PM at the First Church in Roanoke. Friends and family are invited to gather in honor of a man who was a beacon of joy and laughter. As we come together to remember Russel, let us find comfort in the love he shared and the memories he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Russel's name, as a testament to his generous spirit and his lifelong dedication to helping others.
