Ruki was the beloved daughter of Emi and Kazimir Zakuro, and the cherished younger sister to her twin brothers, Taro and Ivan. Her family was her world, and she shared her life with her two adoring cats, Miso and Ichi, who brought her great joy and comfort.
Those who had the privilege of knowing Ruki will remember her for her radiant eyes, a reflection of her mother's charm. She was a mosaic of creativity and determination, seamlessly weaving her talents into various pursuits. Ruki worked as a florist, a lifeguard, a babysitter, and was an emerging model, each role embodying her vibrant spirit and dedication.
Ruki had a love for games that was unparalleled. Whether she was actively playing or enjoying watching others, it was a passion that brought her immense happiness. Her recent diagnosis with autism only added to her unique and endearing nature, accentuating her loving and quirky personality.
Ruki was surrounded by a circle of close friends who meant the world to her, including Mariana, Zak, Anais, Xena, and Key. Her journey was shared with Tegan, who played a significant role in her life. Despite the struggles she faced, Ruki's warmth and kindness resonated deeply with everyone she encountered.
A service to celebrate Ruki's life will be held on July 15, 2026, at 10:15 a.m. at the New York Botanical Garden. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Ruki's honor, reflecting her compassionate and giving spirit.
Ruki's departure leaves a void that can never be filled, but her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.
