Her indomitable spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering positivity were a beacon of light to all who knew her. Rufina was born on July 19, 1956, in the picturesque town of San Jose de Ramos del Oro, Durango, to her cherished parents, Isabel Díaz and Rita Avila. Reunited now with her beloved parents, Rufina leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire those fortunate enough to have been touched by her life. For 48 beautiful years, Rufina shared her life with her devoted husband, Mauricio Lucero. Together, they crafted a life rich in love, laughter, and family, a testament to their unwavering commitment to one another. Rufina's family was always her highest priority, and she was the heart and soul of every gathering, bringing joy and harmony to every occasion. Rufina's professional journey was marked by dedication and perseverance. She spent 17 years at Hormel Dold Foods, where her exemplary work ethic and positive attitude were admired by her colleagues. She retired in 2019, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and camaraderie. In her leisure time, Rufina was a woman of many passions. Her love for music was a constant presence in her life, providing the soundtrack to countless precious moments with family and friends. Rufina cherished her time spent traveling, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories with her loved ones. Her family was the center of her universe, and she took immense pride in the seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy and fulfillment. Rufina's radiant smile and boundless energy left an indelible mark on all who crossed her path. Her legacy will endure in the laughter and love she spread so generously. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Rufina's life and honor her memory at a service on July 21, 2026, at 6:00 PM. The gathering will be held at Baker Funeral Home Wichita West, located at 3224 N Tyler Road, Wichita, KS 67205. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Rufina's name to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to the compassion and generosity she embodied throughout her life. Rufina Lucero will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she loved and who loved her in return.
