Rudorse “Rudy” Malcom Tompkins

Rudorse “Rudy” Malcom Tompkins, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on September 17, 2026, at the age of 60. Born on October 1, 1965, in King & Queen County, Virginia, Rudy was the cherished son of Margaret Tompkins and Robert Bundy. He was preceded in death by his devoted parents, his brother Robert Fauntleroy, sisters Earline Martin, Nannie, Jeanette Fauntleroy, and his beloved wife, Rotina Parker-Tompkins, whom he married in 2009.
Rudy leaves behind a legacy of love through his son, Rudy Mitchell of Tappahannock, Virginia, and his extended family, including two stepdaughters, Samirah Parker and Tyler Glenn of Orange, New Jersey, and three stepsons, Lawrence Hill, Jeffery Cole, and Lamar Parker, also of Orange, New Jersey. He is further survived by a brother, Keith (Valerie) Tompkins of Inkster, Michigan, and two sisters, Nicole (Michael) Holmes of Humble, Texas, and MaryJane (Alan) Sanders of Riverview, Florida. Rudy was the proud grandfather of 17 grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life.
Rudy attended King & Queen County Public Schools, where he laid the foundation for a life rich in knowledge and skill. Known as a jack of all trades, he was not only a dedicated trucker but also an accomplished auto mechanic, construction worker, electrician, landscaper, mover, babysitter, and taxi driver. Rudy’s career was a testament to his hardworking nature, with roles spanning from working on Mr. Henry Longest Farm and Philip Minor Farms to positions at FM Barlow, O’Malley Timber, Brizendine Trucking, and Keith Cooke Logging Co.
A true Dallas Cowboys fan, Rudy was known for his loyalty and passion, qualities that extended beyond his love for football to his family and friends. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need, embodying the spirit of generosity and selflessness.
Rudy will be dearly missed by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends, who will forever cherish his kindness, humor, and unwavering spirit.
