Ruby Weaver
October 5, 1930 — July 18, 2026
Ruby Weaver, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2026, at Gateway Springs Health Campus. Born on October 5, 1930, in the quaint town of Boring, Kentucky, Ruby was the cherished daughter of Luther and Geraldine Wagner. Her life was a testament to love, kindness, and community spirit.
In 1948, Ruby married the love of her life, embarking on a journey that would see them raise five wonderful children. Together, they built a home where love and laughter were abundant, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime. Her children—Sandy Wyatt, Brenda Brown, Larry (Barb) Weaver, Sheila (Barry) Duckworth, and Tim (Kim) Weaver—mourn her passing but celebrate the legacy she leaves behind.
Ruby's nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family. She was a devoted grandmother to 14 grandchildren and a great-grandmother to 34 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Her family was her world, and she was theirs.
Her professional life was dedicated to the Fairfield City Schools, where she worked for 18 years before retiring in 1990. Ruby's passion for education and her dedication to the children she worked with left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
A founding member of East River Road Baptist Church since 1951, Ruby was deeply involved in her church community. She held numerous roles over the years, but her heart belonged to the music department. Her love for music was evident, as she sang throughout her life, bringing joy to those around her even in her final days.
Ruby's talents were not limited to music. She was an avid gardener, delighting in canning and freezing her harvests, and a culinary artisan whose baking and cooking were renowned. Her kitchen was always filled with the aroma of love and her table with the warmth of fellowship.
Known for her quick wit and infectious sense of humor, Ruby never met a stranger. Her home was a haven of hospitality, where everyone was welcome and laughter was a staple.
A service to celebrate Ruby's life will be held on August 10, 2026, at 12:30 PM at Avance Funeral Home, located at 4976 Winton Rd., Fairfield, Ohio 45015.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to East River Road Baptist Church, Fairfield, Ohio 45014, in memory of Ruby's unwavering faith and dedication to her church.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Gateway Springs Health Complex for their years of love and care, as well as to Queen City Hospice for their kindness during Ruby's final week.
Ruby Weaver's legacy is one of love, laughter, and unwavering faith. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all.
