Born on October 12, 1944, in the warm embrace of Lubbock, Texas, Ruby was the beloved daughter of Melvin and Norma Anderson. She was preceded in death by her father in 1973 and her mother in 1975, who both undoubtedly welcomed her with open arms into eternity.

Her career began as a registered nurse at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock, where she touched countless lives with her gentle care and diligent professionalism. Her journey later took her to Long Beach, California, where she continued to serve as a PRN, committing herself to the well-being of others.
A woman of many talents, Ruby was renowned for her culinary skills, particularly her irresistible apple pie, which was often the centerpiece of family gatherings. Her kitchen was a haven for all, a place where love was the main ingredient, and no one ever left hungry. Ruby was married to Hans Paterson, and together they created a joyful life, raising six children who became the pride and joy of her existence. Her nurturing spirit extended to her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored and inspired with her warmth and wisdom.
