It is with heavy hearts yet gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Ruby Marie Brown, who left this world on April 30, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on June 29, 1933, in Albemarle County. Ruby's journey was marked by strength, faith, and an unwavering love for her family. Ruby was the daughter of Shirley and Virgie Fewell, who gave her the values of resilience and compassion. Her life was a testament to these qualities, as she moved through the joys and trials of life with grace and dignity. Ruby was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard L. Brown Sr.,with whom she shared a deeply loving partnership. Together, they nurtured a family that became a beacon of love and unity. She was a devoted mother to her children: Brenda Brown (husband Granville), Annalee Davis (husband David), Joann Sprouse (husband Jim),Richard L. Brown Jr. (wife Judy),and William Brown (wife Karen). Ruby’s legacy continues through them and her sister Pearl and her 11 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of her spirit and warmth. Ruby was also predeceased by her two daughters, Brenda Brown and Joann Sprouse, and seven of her eight siblings and one of her Great Grandchildren. Her passing is a poignant reminder of the family reunion that she now enjoys in the embrace of eternity. A woman of deep faith, Ruby was a devoted member of Mt Eagle Baptist Church, where she found and embraced her love of Christ. She was well-known for her strength and independence, qualities that inspired not only her family but also all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was a living testament to the power of faith and the strength found in family. As we gather to celebrate Ruby's remarkable journey, we invite friends and family to join us for family night at Teague Funeral Home on Wednesday May 6th from 6:00- 8:00pm. Her Memorial Service will be held at Mt Eagle Baptist Church Thursday May 7th at 1:00pm, where we will honor her life and the love she shared with so many. Interment will follow at Monticello Memorial Gardens. Ruby’s gentle presence and steadfast spirit will be greatly missed, but the legacy she leaves behind is a beacon of hope and love that will guide her family for generations to come. We will hold fast to the memories and cherish the indelible mark she left on each of our hearts. May she rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love of those who journeyed before her, and may her soul find joy in the eternal embrace of her Savior.
