Ruby Nell Levicy

Ruby Levicy, a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with stage 4 breast cancer. Born on April 25, 1937, in Augusta, Georgia, Ruby was the beloved daughter of Ruth and Tommy Cody. Ruby was preceded in death by her devoted parents, Ruth and Tommy, and her cherished sister, Anne Cody. She leaves behind a loving family, including her children, Robert Levicy and Gwen Johnson, and her treasured grandchildren, Ashley Parker, Courtnei Walker, Zoe Barfield, Cali Whitehead, and Gabby Walker. Ruby's legacy also extends to her two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her love and wisdom. In 1999, Ruby was widowed after a loving 10-year marriage to Anderson Levicy, who remained the love of her life. Her marriage was a testament to her nurturing spirit and profound capacity for love. Ruby's educational journey began at Lucy C. Laney High School, and she embarked on a career that spanned several decades. She served as a maid until 2000 and retired from Krispy Kreme Donuts in 1990, where she was known for her unwavering work ethic and kindness. A devoted member of the Williams Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, Ruby was an active participant in her community. She found joy in serving as the lead Sunday school teacher, where her passion for teaching and nurturing others shone brightly. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, and her church family was a source of strength and comfort. Ruby's hobbies included cooking, sewing, and gardening, activities that brought her immense joy and allowed her to express her creativity. Her home was always filled with the aroma of her delicious dishes, and her garden was a testament to her dedication and green thumb. Those who knew Ruby will remember her as a beacon of laughter and generosity. She had an innate ability to lift spirits and was always there with a kind word and a warm smile. Ruby's legacy as a giver and teacher will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. A service to honor Ruby's life will be held on August 6, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Memorial Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, located at 1630 15th St, Augusta, GA 30901, United States. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the church family for their unwavering support and prayers during this difficult time.
