Ruby Jean was the cherished daughter of the late Harmony Beale and Terrance Lipscomb, whose untimely passing in a tragic home fire left an indelible mark on her life. Despite this early hardship, Ruby Jean blossomed into a remarkable woman whose impact on the world was profound and lasting. Her journey of service began immediately after high school when she proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, demonstrating a steadfast commitment to her country. Her time in the military was marked by honor and integrity, traits she carried into her subsequent career in education. For 47 years, Ruby Jean devoted herself to the noble profession of teaching, where her patience, wisdom, and compassion left an everlasting impression on countless students and colleagues. She was more than an educator; she was a mentor, a guide, and a source of inspiration to all who crossed her path. Ruby Jean's life was rich with love, most notably for her family. She leaves behind her precious children: Lawanda Burns, Joseph Burns, Terrance Lipscomb Jr., and Keita Tate, who will forever cherish her memory. Her legacy also lives on in her grandchildren: Alexus Burns, Kameisha Burns, and Marquale Burns, and her two great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life. A private funeral service will be held on July 31, 2026, at 11:00, allowing her family and close friends to honor her life in a quiet and intimate gathering.
