In Loving Memory

Ruby Jean Letterman
April 10, 1929 — May 28, 2026
It is with heavy yet grateful hearts that we announce the passing of Ruby Jean Letterman, who left this world peacefully on May 28, 2026, at the age of 97, after a brief illness. Born on April 10, 1929, in the warm embrace of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Ruby lived a life that was both deeply rooted in family and service to others.
Ruby was the cherished daughter of Ernest and Claudia Mae Watson, who instilled in her a sense of compassion and dedication that she carried throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her devoted husband, Bob Letterman, who passed in May 2001, her dear daughter Connie Fletcher, and her siblings, John and James Watson, and sisters Thelma Thomas, Mary Simeroth, and Catherine Riddle.
Left to honor and remember Ruby’s incredible legacy are her loving daughter, Peggy Simeroth-Ames, and her supportive son-in-law, Rodney Ames. The light of Ruby’s life continued to shine through her five grandchildren, including her treasured grandson Tim Simeroth and his wife Patricia, alongside granddaughters Karen Simeroth and Kimberley Fletcher, and grandson Stacy (affectionately known as Buzz) Fletcher. Her life was further enriched by the joy brought by her two great-grandsons and three great-great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Ruby found immense joy and fulfillment in being a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Her home, a sanctuary of warmth and love, bore testament to her skills as a homemaker where she practiced her beloved hobbies of home canning and sewing. Ruby's kitchen was often filled with the comforting aroma of her carefully preserved produce, while her sewing needle weaved threads of love into each garment she crafted.
Beyond her cherished home, Ruby selflessly devoted over 25 years of volunteer service to Fremont and Rideout Hospital, up until 2024. Her kindness and unwavering dedication touched countless lives, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of crossing her path.
Ruby Jean Letterman will be remembered not only for her boundless generosity and gentle spirit but also for the indomitable strength and grace with which she carried herself through life. Her legacy is one of love, service, and an unyielding devotion to family and community. As we say goodbye to a truly remarkable woman, we take solace in the knowledge that her spirit lives on in the hearts of those she touched.
A celebration of Ruby’s life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor the extraordinary journey of a woman whose life was a testament to love and selfless service. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Ruby’s memory, continuing her legacy of giving and kindness.
May her gentle soul rest in peace, forever remembered and eternally cherished.
