Ruby Emogene Marlow Anderson, a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on August 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with illness. Born on February 6, 1959, in DeKalb, Illinois, Ruby was the beloved daughter of Pete and Lil Marlow. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and adventure. Ruby was a proud graduate of DeKalb High School, Class of 1977. Shortly after, she married the love of her life, Douglas Anderson, on July 28, 1979. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. Though Doug preceded her in death, along with her sister, (Mary) Cat Marlow, and brother-in-law, Wilson Keys, Ruby continued to carry their memories with her in all that she did. Her career at Barber-Greene/Caterpillar spanned over 25 years, showcasing her dedication and work ethic. After moving to Florida, Ruby found a new calling as a caretaker, where she extended her family by sharing her warmth and compassion with those she cared for. Ruby was the kind of person whose spirit was fueled by adventure and the joy of new experiences. Whether skydiving, walking the highest swinging bridge in Tennessee, riding ATVs, zip lining, or horseback riding, Ruby embraced life with an unparalleled zest. She was a steadfast supporter, always in the front row cheering for her family and friends. Her heart was generous, never hesitating to help a stranger or treat everyone as family. Ruby's legacy is characterized by her unwavering commitment to putting others before herself. Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Amie Marie Cliffe, and her husband, Adam Cliffe, as well as her adored grandson, Connor Cliffe. Ruby's siblings, Tommy Marlow and his wife Robin, Jewel Graham, Timmy Marlow, Pansy Oderio, and Amy Jo Marlow, along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved as her own, will continue to celebrate her life and spirit. A memorial service will be held on November,14th,2026. Time and location will be provided in the near future. Ruby Emogene Marlow Anderson will be remembered for her boundless love, adventurous spirit, and the profound impact she made on everyone she encountered. Her kindness and joy for life will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
