April 4, 1935 — October 11, 2026
With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, the family of Ruben Plaza announces his peaceful passing on October 11, 2026, surrounded by his beloved family. Born on April 4, 1935, in the charming town of Villa Jimenez, Michoacan, Mexico, Ruben's journey through life was marked by a deep dedication to family, a strong work ethic, and an enduring love for life's simple pleasures.
Ruben was a man of unwavering strength and character, traits he honed during his 30 years of dedicated service as a union foundry worker. His hands, worn by years of hard labor, also crafted a legacy of love and resilience that inspired everyone who knew him. A firm and hardworking man, Ruben's life was an embodiment of dedication and commitment — not just in his career, but in every role he embraced.
For 64 wonderful years, Ruben shared his life with his cherished wife, Gracia. Together, they built a family filled with warmth and laughter. Ruben is lovingly remembered by his children: David, Ruben Jr., Lourdes, Carlos, Henry, Larry, Paul, George, and Veronica. His legacy continues to shine brightly in the lives of his 23 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a piece of his spirit.
Among Ruben's many passions were fishing, BBQing, and amateur boxing. He found joy in the sizzle of the grill, the thrill of casting a line, and the discipline of the boxing ring. Yet, it was in the kitchen where Ruben's heart truly flourished; his baking was a testament to his patience and creativity. He and Gracia also shared a love for travel, exploring new places and cultures, enriching their lives with each journey.
Ruben's family invites those who wish to honor his memory to consider making a donation to a charity of their choice, reflecting the spirit of generosity and kindness that defined his life.
As we bid farewell to Ruben, we celebrate a life that was full and rich, a life that touched countless others with its warmth and strength. His enduring legacy is one of love, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to family. While he may have left this world, his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were privileged to know and love him.
In lieu of flowers, the family of Ruben Plaza welcomes donations to a charity, nonprofit, church, or organization of your choosing.
