Ruben Campos, a cherished husband, father, and friend, passed away on July 1, 2026, at the age of 59. Born on February 12, 1967, in Sacramento, California, Ruben lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to those he held dear.
Ruben was the beloved son of the late Jose G Campos and Pauline Fragoza. He graduated from River City High School in 1985, where he formed the foundation of his lifelong love for learning and community. A hardworking individual, Ruben began his career in a microfiche company for two years before moving on to Montgomery Wards for another two years. In 1989, he joined Wonderbread, dedicating over two decades to the company until 2012. His career journey continued with Caltrans from 2014 until 2022, when he retired due to illness.
Ruben was a man of many passions. He loved the great outdoors, often finding joy in riding ATVs and motorcycles, hunting, camping, and spending time at the shooting range. He was also a skilled handyman who took pleasure in fixing and repairing things around the house, always eager to lend a helping hand to those in need. Ruben's sociable nature was evident in his love for spending time with family and friends, meeting new people, and sharing his infectious laughter and jokes.
Above all, Ruben was a devoted family man. He shared 38 beautiful years of marriage with his wife, Monique. Together, they raised three wonderful sons: Xavier F Campos, Adrian R Campos, and Jesus A Campos, who will forever cherish his memory. Ruben was predeceased by his parents, Jose G Campos and Pauline L Fragoza, but leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will endure in the hearts of those who knew him.
Ruben's warm smile could light up any room, and his generous spirit touched the lives of many. He was a man of integrity, with a big heart and an unwavering sense of honesty. Known for his vibrant personality, Ruben was always willing to help anyone in need and was admired for his intelligence and the good advice he offered to those around him.
