It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Roy Olden Rainey, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and friend. Roy passed away peacefully on April 26, 2026, at the age of 62, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family, whose lives he touched deeply and profoundly. Roy was born on April 25, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, to his adoring parents, Roy Rainey, Sr., and Patricia Rainey. From the very beginning, Roy brought joy and laughter to his family and friends, a gift he continued to share throughout his life. Roy's life was a testament to love and devotion. On February 22, 1992, he married Sandra, in his hometown of St. Louis. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising three daughters, Dena, Lynn, and Shelly. His daughters remember him as a gentle, guiding presence, always there with a listening ear and words of wisdom. Family was the cornerstone of Roy's life. He was a proud grandfather to seven grandchildren—Brandon, Christopher, Kaylen, Alyssa, Alexis, Brooke, and Addison—and a great-grandfather to Evan, Liam, Emerson, Henley, and Carson. His eyes would light up with pride and joy at the mention of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom he adored deeply. Roy is survived by his devoted wife, Sandra; his daughters, Dena, Lynn, and Shelly; his son-in-law, Ron; his beloved parents, Roy and Patricia Rainey; his sisters, Martha and Angie; brother-in-law, Denny; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins who shared in his life's journey with love and laughter. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unwavering faith. A man of great faith, Roy was an active member of Lighthouse Baptist Church, where he found solace and community. He was passionate about participating in mission trips, spreading love and hope wherever he went. Roy had a special fondness for camping and found peace in the simple pleasure of relaxing on his porch, where he could reflect on life's blessings. He was also blessed to work with a wonderful group of individuals at PLZ Corp, whom he also considered family. A service to celebrate Roy's life will be held on May 2, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Lighthouse Baptist Church, located at 3025 N. Lindbergh Blvd, St. Ann, MO 63074. Family, friends, and all whose lives Roy touched are invited to join in honoring a life well-lived and a man well-loved. Roy Olden Rainey, Jr. will be remembered for his generous spirit, compassionate heart, and unwavering faith. Though he has left this world, his light continues to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and forever cherished.
