Roy Douglas Granger
September 1, 1972 — January 27, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Douglas Granger, a devoted father, cherished grandfather, and honorable veteran, who left this world on January 27, 2026. Roy passed away peacefully from natural causes, leaving behind a legacy of integrity, service, and love that will be cherished by all who knew him.
Born on September 1, 1972, in Louisiana, Roy was the beloved son of Charlet Granger, who preceded him in death in 2022. Raised with values of hard work and dedication, Roy graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1990, where he laid the foundation for a life filled with purpose and commitment.
Soon after his graduation, Roy answered the noble call of duty and joined the Marine Corps in August 1990. His military career was distinguished by honor and bravery, serving his country with unwavering dedication until August 1994, and then again from February 1996 until April 2004. Roy rose to the rank of Sergeant, a testament to his leadership and the respect he commanded among his peers. His service to the nation was a source of immense pride to him, and he carried the values of discipline and integrity into every aspect of his life.
After his military service, Roy continued to demonstrate his dedication to protecting others through his role as Operations Manager at ACT Security Group, where he worked diligently for seven years. His colleagues remember him as a hardworking and dependable leader, always eager to share his knowledge and mentor those around him.
Roy's life was enriched by his love for his family, who were the center of his world. He is survived by his beloved daughters, Rhian Granger of Wichita, KS, and Jordyn Granger of Shawnee, KS, who adored their father's strength and wisdom. Roy was also a proud grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren: Holden Whitener of Wichita, KS, and Aniston and Zeppelin Granger of Shawnee, KS. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he took every opportunity to share his stories and wisdom with them.
Roy's memory will be lovingly cherished by his family and friends, who admired his steadfast spirit and generous heart. He was a man of action and principle, a role model who inspired those around him to strive for excellence and kindness. Though our hearts are heavy with his loss, we find comfort in knowing that Roy's life was one of fulfillment and honor.
A private service will be held to commemorate Roy's life and his indelible impact on those he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to veteran support organizations, a cause that was close to Roy's heart.
Roy Douglas Granger, a man of courage and compassion, will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His legacy of service and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
