With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the peaceful transition of Roy Coachman Dampier Cunningham Jr, who journeyed to his heavenly home on June 7, 2026. Roy was a beacon of joy from the moment he entered this world on January 3, 1970, in the vibrant community of Pinellas County. His life was a testament to warmth, laughter, and unyielding love for family and friends. Roy's early years were shaped by the nurturing embrace of his parents, the late Cornell Cunningham Sr and Elizabeth Cunningham. He shared an unbreakable bond with his siblings, Felicia and Willie Cunningham, who have predeceased him. Despite the profound loss of his loved ones, Roy's spirit remained resilient, and he continued to spread joy with his infectious laughter and warm smile. A proud graduate of Larc Adult High School, Roy was a man of simple pleasures and boundless enthusiasm. His love for toy guns and sunglasses was endearing and captured the playful essence of his character. He found joy in the familiar comfort of his favorite television shows, "The Price is Right," "Sanford and Son," and "The Jeffersons," which brought laughter and light to his days. Roy's excitement knew no bounds when family gathered around. He was a loving son to his stepmother, Margaret Cunningham, and a cherished brother to Robbie Perry, Cornell Cunningham Jr, Carolyn Cunningham, Tara Union, Christopher Cunningham, Junior Baptist, and Ken Velinor. Each moment spent with Roy was a reminder of the beauty of family connection, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. As we prepare to celebrate Roy's life, we invite family and friends to join us in honoring his memory. A service will be held on June 20, 2026, at 11:00 AM at TR Dallas Funeral and Cremation Services, located at 1479 South M.L. King Jr Avenue, Clearwater, FL 33756. Together, we will share stories, shed tears, and remember the wonderful man who brought so much happiness into our lives. In a heartfelt dedication, his stepmother, Margaret Cunningham, expressed, "For my son in heaven, I miss you today. I will miss you tomorrow. Tears in my eyes and a heart full of sorrow. I hold onto the memories of the great times we had. I grieve for what I lost but am grateful for what I had." Roy's departure leaves an irreplaceable void, but his life is a testament to the power of love and laughter. As we say goodbye, let us carry forward his legacy of joy and the warmth he shared with everyone he met. May his soul rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love of those who have gone before him.
