It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Roxsand Kapiolani Mitchell, fondly known to many as "ROC," who departed this world on April 16, 2026, at the age of 59. Roxsand passed away peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family, at her home in Honolulu, Hawaii. Born on June 12, 1966, in the vibrant city of Honolulu, Roxsand was the cherished daughter of Mildred and Alexander Mitchell. Her life was a testament to the beauty and spirit of Hawaii, where she grew up and spent her life creating lasting memories and touching the lives of everyone she met. Roxsand was a devoted mother and partner, leaving behind a legacy of love and family. She is survived by her beloved soulmate, Jordan Kepa, who stood by her side through life's many adventures. Her light continues to shine through her children: daughters Loreen Mitchell (Haku) and her husband Thomas Tilton, Raquel Diaz and her spouse Justin Delos Santos, Ashley Mitchell and her spouse Steve Horton; and sons Richard Diaz and his wife Tia Diaz, Royce Diaz and his spouse Brandi Kalua. She also leaves behind her dear brother Edward Mitchell and his wife Branda Mitchell. Roxsand was blessed with 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, each a testament to her enduring legacy of love and care. Her circle of cherished friends, Sonya, Kuuipo, Weji, Gwen, Kapu, Lianne, and Corey, were an integral part of her life, offering friendship and laughter that enriched her journey. Roxsand's presence was like a gentle breeze, always leaving those around her feeling uplifted and cherished. Her laughter was infectious, her kindness boundless, and her passion for life immeasurable. She was a beacon of strength and grace, never failing to offer a word of encouragement or a shoulder to lean on. Though we grieve her departure, we find solace in the countless memories and the impact she has left on our hearts. The family has chosen to honor her life with a private ceremony, respecting her wishes for a peaceful and intimate farewell. In this time of loss, the family wishes to express their profound gratitude for the outpouring of love and support from all who knew Roxsand. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light in our lives, reminding us to live with love, courage, and kindness. As we hold Roxsand forever in our hearts, we find comfort in the special message left by her family: "Forever in our Hearts." In lieu of flowers, the family encourages those who wish to honor Roxsand's memory to perform an act of kindness in her name, celebrating her life by spreading love and joy to others, just as she did.
