June 12, 1966 — April 16, 2026

Roxsand Kapiolani Mitchell, affectionately known to many as ROC, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 16, 2026, surrounded by the warmth and love of her family. Born on June 12, 1966, in the vibrant city of Honolulu, Hawaii, Roxsand was the beloved daughter of Mildred and Alexander Mitchell. Her life was a testament to the aloha spirit, a beacon of love, kindness, and strength for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Throughout her 59 years, Roxsand embraced life with an open heart and an unwavering commitment to nurturing her family and friendships. She was the cherished wife of Jordan Kepa, with whom she shared a lifetime of beautiful memories, laughter, and unconditional support. Together, they created a loving family environment that was a haven of comfort and joy for their children and grandchildren. Roxsand is survived by her devoted children, who carry forward her legacy of compassion and resilience: daughters Loreen Mitchell (Haku) and her spouse Thomas Tilton, Raquel Diaz and her spouse Justin Delos Santos, and Ashley Mitchell and her spouse Steve Horton; sons Richard Diaz and his wife Tia Diaz, and Royce Diaz and his spouse Brandi Kalua. Her brother, Edward Mitchell, and his wife Branda Mitchell, also hold her memory close to their hearts. The pride and joy of Roxsand's life were her 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She treasured every moment spent with them, leaving behind cherished memories filled with stories, laughter, and a sense of belonging. Her nurturing spirit and wisdom will continue to guide them as they grow. Roxsand's life was also enriched by her cherished friendships. Sonya, Kuuipo, Weji, Gwen, Kapu, Lianne, and Corey were not just friends but treasured members of her extended family. Their bonds, built on shared experiences and genuine affection, were a source of great comfort and joy throughout her life. In honoring Roxsand's wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held, allowing the family to celebrate her life in an intimate setting, surrounded by those she loved most. As we say goodbye to our beloved Roxsand, we remember her as a woman of remarkable strength, grace, and kindness. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched, a testament to a life well-lived. Although she has departed from this world, the vibrant spirit of Roxsand Kapiolani Mitchell will forever inspire those she leaves behind. May her soul rest in eternal peace, embraced by the love she so generously shared during her time with us.
