ROXIE WINN

February 2, 1952 — October 31, 2026

With heavy hearts and loving memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Roxie Winn on October 31, 2026, at her cherished home. Born on February 2, 1952, in Hinesville, Roxie's life was a testament to love, resilience, and kindness. She was the beloved daughter of Rufus and Maude Holmes, and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Roxie was united in marriage to John Henry Winn on March 9, 1968, in Ludowici, GA. Together, they shared 28 beautiful years, raising a family filled with love and laughter. Though John preceded her in death, along with their cherished sons Samuel (Holmes) and Tyrone Winn, Roxie's legacy continues through her surviving sons, Gregory Holmes and Johnnie Winn. Her granddaughter Christine, along with her husband Howard Craig and their three children, Myleah, Howard III, and Harmoni Craig, remain as testaments to her enduring spirit and warmth. A graduate of Liberty County High School, Roxie spent a brief but meaningful time working for the Liberty County School system. Her professional journey was marked by her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others, a characteristic that extended far beyond her career. Known for her warm smile and the ability to make everyone feel welcome, Roxie's kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on countless lives. Roxie's faith was an integral part of her life. She was an active member of Friendship Baptist Church before joining Bacton Missionary Baptist Church in 2021. Her spiritual journey was one of devotion and community, always seeking to uplift those around her. Roxie's departure leaves a profound void, but the love and memories she imparted will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Her family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to everyone for their prayers and acts of kindness during this difficult time. Special thanks are also extended to the staff of Dorchester Funeral Home for their unwavering support and service. A celebration of Roxie's life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM at The Dorchester Funeral Home, located at 7842 E. Oglethorpe Hwy, Midway, GA 31320.
