Roslyn's final days were spent at Chateau Nursing Home, where she peacefully concluded her long and courageous battle with dementia, surrounded by the love of her family and caregivers. Born on August 25, 1958, in Trenton, Tennessee, Roslyn was the cherished daughter of Dorothy Gentry and Charlie Johnson. Her life was a testament to resilience, love, and laughter—qualities she generously shared with everyone she encountered. Her parents and beloved son, Clinton Kirk, along with her brothers Ronald and Donald Gentry, have gone before her, undoubtedly welcoming her into their embrace. Roslyn's legacy lives on in her surviving children: Emi Walker, Corey Kirk (Audrey), and Jonathan Gentry. She also leaves behind her siblings, Maria Gentry, April Gentry, Anthony Gentry, and Rodrick Gentry, along with a host of nieces, nephews, and 11 grandchildren who brought her boundless joy. Her legacy continues through her five great-grandchildren, who will carry forward her vibrant spirit. Roslyn's dearest friends, Lisa and Michelle, along with all her family, have expressed deep gratitude for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. Education was a cornerstone of Roslyn’s life. She graduated from PeaBody High School, laying the foundation for her compassionate career as a Qualified Medication Aide at Lutheran Life Villages. Her dedication to her work was a reflection of her nurturing character and her desire to care for others. Roslyn's life was enriched by her passions for cooking and cherishing time with her grandchildren. She was known for her delightful sense of humor, often seen dancing with infectious joy, and creating a loving atmosphere wherever she went. Her laughter was a melody of happiness, and her kitchen a haven of warmth and comfort for family and friends alike. A Celebration of Roslyn's Life will take place on May 21, 2026, at Nelson Memorial Gardens, located at 1338 Eliza St. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her memory and the remarkable life she led. As we reflect on the beautiful impact Roslyn had on our lives, we hold dear the memories of her love, laughter, and the light she brought into the world. She leaves behind a legacy of happiness and strength that will forever guide us. In lieu of flowers, the family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone for their unwavering support and love during this trying time.
