In Loving Memory

Rosie McDaniel
September 1, 1953 — June 12, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of our beloved Rosie McDaniel, who peacefully departed this world on June 12, 2026, at the age of 72. A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Rosie was born on September 1, 1953, in the warm embrace of Pensacola, Florida, to her loving parents, Virginia Parker and Ozzie Fountain Sr.
Rosie's life was a testament to her unwavering faith, kindness, and the boundless love she showered upon her family and community. She was predeceased by her parents and her dear brother, Ozzie Fountain Jr., who preceded her on the journey to eternal rest. Those who remain to honor her memory include her devoted husband of 52 years, Curtis McDaniel Sr.; her beloved son, Curtis McDaniel Jr.; and her treasured grandchildren, Curtis McDaniel III, Arnissa McDaniel, Daniel McDaniel, and Xavier McDaniel, along with their loving mother, Dashia McDaniel. Rosie is also survived by her brother, David Fountain, her close Uncle Joe McMillan, her cousin Sherrie McKenzie, and a host of cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews. She leaves behind a legacy of love that extends to her six great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.
For over three decades, Rosie was a beacon of faith and service at New Life Church of God in Christ, where she found joy in her role as an evangelist. Her dedication to her church family was unwavering, and she was always ready to lend a hand, a prayer, or a comforting word. Her spiritual journey was one of deep devotion, and she never missed an opportunity to share the power of Jesus Christ with those around her.
Rosie's love for the outdoors was evident in the care she took of her garden, where vibrant flowers and fresh vegetables flourished under her gentle touch. Her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with the comforting aroma of her delicious baked goods and home-cooked meals, which she delighted in sharing with all who visited. Her greatest joy, however, came from time spent with her grandchildren. Whether teaching them a new recipe, sharing stories in the backyard, or simply enjoying a quiet afternoon together, Rosie made every moment a cherished memory. Her life was a tapestry of warmth, kindness, and devotion to her family and faith.
Rosie McDaniel will be remembered for her radiant smile and genuine, kind-hearted nature. Her home was always open, offering a warm welcome and a sense of belonging to all who entered. She leaves behind a legacy of love and faith, and while she will be deeply missed, those who knew her find solace in the certainty that her soul is now at peace in a heavenly place.
A service to celebrate Rosie's life will be held on June 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at New Life Church of God in Christ, located at 5000 Patterson Rd. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Pastor Terry Ellison, the New Life family, and the pallbearers for their support during this time.
In the words of John 11:25, "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?" Rosie held these words close to her heart, always reminding her loved ones, "Don't worry about me. When I die, I will be with the Lord. I want you to get your life right so you can join me."
We take comfort in knowing that Rosie has heard the words, “His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” (Matthew 25:23).
We love you, Momma. You will forever be missed, but never forgotten.
