In Loving Memory

Rosemary Sparandera
November 26, 1936 — October 1, 2026
With heavy hearts, we remember and honor the life of Rosemary, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world on October 1, 2026. Born on November 26, 1936, in Staten Island, NY, Rosemary was the cherished daughter of Ralph and Marjorie Scaffa. Her journey through life was marked by love, adventure, and a profound dedication to her family and community.
Rosemary was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert, with whom she shared a beautiful life. Together, they raised five sons—Michael and his wife Margaret, Dennis, Frank and his wife Isabelle, Joseph, and Peter and his wife Christie. Her family expanded to include eight grandchildren—Jaclyn, Jessica (Kevin) Caci, Jaime, Joseph (Alina), Elyse Delph, Timothee, Thomas, and Jakob—and two great-grandchildren, Thomas and Eva, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
A dedicated professional, Rosemary worked in the medical field as an Emergency Room technician and EMT, giving selflessly to those in need before retiring. Her compassion and commitment were evident in every patient she cared for.
In 1984, Rosemary and Bob moved from Staten Island to Howell, where they became active members of the St. Mary of the Lake parish. Rosemary's faith was a guiding light throughout her life, providing her with strength and comfort.
Rosemary's adventurous spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her. She traveled extensively, exploring many countries and much of the United States. In her later years she travelled with her friend and companion Donald Briden. Her love for crafting, ceramics, crochet, and cooking was matched only by her zest for life. In a testament to her adventurous nature, she went skydiving twice after the age of 70, proving that age was no barrier to her sense of adventure.
An animal lover at heart, Rosemary's small farm was home to dogs, cats, goats, and chickens, each of which she cherished dearly. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her family to all creatures great and small.
In honoring Rosemary's life, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude's, a gesture that captures her generous and giving nature.
Rosemary's legacy is one of love, courage, and an indomitable spirit. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who were privileged to know and love her. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
