With heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Rose Noray Sebro on February 12, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on August 30, 1940, in the vibrant island of Trinidad, Rose was a beacon of light and strength to all who knew her.
Rose was the cherished daughter of Marita Noray and Martin Rondon, who instilled in her the values of resilience and compassion that she carried throughout her life. Her journey took her across the seas to New York City, where she dedicated many years of service to the City of New York. Upon retiring, she left behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her community.
Rose's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family. She is survived by her loving children, Antonette Samule, and Cassius Rondon, who were the pride and joy of her life. Her legacy continues through her six cherished grandchildren, Deron Tyron Samuel, Fareed Albert Marcus Asad Samuel, Yager Rondon, Michael Rondon, Mya Gracie Francois, and Jumila Alexander, and her three precious great-grandchildren, Diyani Samuel, Deriyana Samuel, and Katelyn Samuel. Rose's nurturing spirit also touched the lives of her nieces and nephews, Kirk, Linda, Jasmine, Jennifer, and Lorine, and her great-nieces and nephews, Alana, Roxanne, Fauline, Jasmine, Regina, and Shaya. Her loving Daughter in law Magdalene Rondon - Her close friend Edna Wilson and goddaughter Natasha Wilson-Winters held special places in her heart. She also leaves behind many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family who she loved very much.
Known for her larger-than-life personality, Rose never hesitated to speak her mind. Her strength, loyalty, and love for her family and friends were unparalleled. She was a woman of many talents, with hobbies that included cooking, sewing, and dancing to her favorite soca songs. Her adventurous spirit shone brightly on bus rides, where she found joy in life's simple pleasures.
Rose's heart was as vast as her love for life, and she had a remarkable ability to help others. She never turned her back on anyone she loved, offering support and kindness to those in need. Her indomitable spirit and zest for life were evident as she danced with joy until her final days.
