In Loving Memory

Rose Mary Slaughter Jones
December 3, 1945 — October 4, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Rose Mary, who, surrounded by the love of her family, answered God's call and entered eternal rest on October 4, 2026, at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco, California.
Born on December 3, 1945, in Louisiana, Rose was a beacon of love, strength, and compassion to all who knew her. Her warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering devotion to her family left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to share in her life.
Rose was the cherished daughter of Joseph Slaughter and Dorothy Jack, both of whom preceded her in death, along with her son, grandparents, grandson, granddaughter, and great-grandsons. Though she endured profound loss throughout her life, Rose's faith, resilience, and strength never wavered. She faced life's challenges with grace and courage, inspiring those around her by the example she set.
She leaves behind her devoted children: Cornell Hebert; Amanda Hebert-Jones and her husband, Michael; Belinda Battley and her husband, Andre Sr.; and Tawanda Jack and her husband, Les. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren, Tiffany, Phillip, Brian, Andre Jr., LeMondre, Shinena, Jessica, Torina, LaTasha, and Ivan Jr., as well as her fourteen cherished great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to her life.
Rose is also survived by her loving brothers, Joseph Slaughter Sr. and Vance Jack Sr., along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
Throughout her life, Rose wore many hats professionally, taking on a variety of roles that reflected her resourcefulness, adaptability, and dedication. Her strong work ethic, determination, and willingness to help others earned her the respect and admiration of all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Above all else, Rose's greatest joy was her family. She cherished spending time with her loved ones and especially enjoyed playing bingo with her daughters, Belinda and Tawanda. Those outings were filled with laughter, love, and special moments that will forever be treasured. She also enjoyed the excitement of casino trips and never missed a chance to try her luck. Whether gathered around a bingo card or enjoying a day of adventure, Rose embraced life's simple pleasures with enthusiasm and a joyful spirit that brightened every room she entered.
A Celebration of Life honoring Rose Mary will be held on October 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Colonial Chapel, 2626 High Street, Oakland, California 94619. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life beautifully lived and to celebrate the profound impact she made on so many lives.
As we mourn Rose's passing, we find comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with the loved ones who welcomed her into eternity. Her legacy of love, faith, kindness, and devotion will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
