Rose Marie Durocher

July 27, 1929 — February 27, 2026

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Rose Marie Durocher, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world peacefully on February 27, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on July 27, 1929, in Windsor, Ontario, Rose was the beloved daughter of Gilliam Mariotti and Eva (LaChappel). Her life was a testament to the beauty of kindness, faith, and an unwavering devotion to family. Rose was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Agnes, Roger, and Eva, as well as her dear son-in-law, Ken, who passed in 2013. Despite these losses, she drew strength from her deep Christian faith, becoming the matriarch of the Durocher family—a pillar of grace and strength who held her family together through all seasons of life. Survived by her devoted husband, Ray Durocher, Rose's legacy continues through her children, Georgina, Jeanine (Mel), Pauline (Brian), and Denise (Roger), each of whom she cherished deeply. Her love extended to her grandchildren, Laura (Darryl), Kerry (Lisa), Julie (Jim), and Renee (Rick), and her great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Megan, Wyatte, Collyn, Mason, Zander, Ayden, Caleb, Payton, and Maisie, who were the source of her greatest joy. In addition to her immediate family, Rose embraced her step-children Ron, Yvonne, Donna, Denise, and Michelle, and was a second mother to Robert Arquette (Jenny). Her heart was as expansive as her love, welcoming everyone with open arms. Rose's professional life was marked by dedication and passion. She spent 17 years at Dominion Auto, but it was her love for children that led her to a fulfilling role at a daycare—a testament to her nurturing spirit. She was known for her vibrant personality, always impeccably dressed, and her love for shopping, dining at restaurants, visiting with her grandchildren, and family gatherings. Her presence was a warm and welcoming flame, ever strong and radiant. Her family fondly remembers her as an unfailing source of love and wisdom, someone who was gentle yet possessed a strong personality that inspired all who knew her. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth, where her hospitality and laughter could always be counted upon. Rose's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Heron Terrace, who provided exceptional care and were touched by her enduring spirit. Their kindness and support during her final days were a great comfort to both Rose and her family. In celebrating the extraordinary life of Rose Marie Durocher, we remember a woman whose love was her greatest accomplishment. Her memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those she touched. A private family service will be held to honor her life, with a celebration planned at a later date to share stories and joy, just as Rose would have wanted. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a children's charity of your choice, carrying forward Rose's legacy of love and care for future generations.
