In Loving Memory

Roscoe McClendon
July 22, 2024 — April 19, 2026
With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the passing of our beloved Roscoe McClendon. Born on July 22, 2024, in the sunny city of Orlando, Florida, Roscoe brought joy and laughter into the lives of everyone he encountered. His sudden departure on April 19, 2026, as he was tragically hit by a vehicle, leaves a void that will be profoundly felt by all who knew him.
Roscoe was the cherished companion of Shante McClendon and Marlon Scott. He was welcomed into the world and into our hearts with an abundance of love, and he returned it tenfold each day. Though his time with us was brief, Roscoe lived his days with an exuberance and spirit that inspired those around him.
In his short life, Roscoe developed a love for spirited games of tug-of-war, finding joy in playing with any item he could find. His time rolling in the grass was a testament to his carefree nature and his zest for life. Yet, it was perhaps his unwavering love for his "mommy," Shante, that defined him most profoundly. Her world was brighter with Roscoe in it, and his loyalty and affection were unyielding.
Roscoe was often referred to as a "bad dog" by those who didn't truly know him, but anyone who took the time to look beyond his boisterous barks found a heart full of love and a spirit that was impossible not to adore. A gentle soul, his bark was indeed far worse than his bite, as he never nipped at anyone but chose instead to shower them with affection.
He joins his beloved grandmother, Alison McClendon, in a place where fields are ever green and the sun always shines. We take comfort in knowing that they are together, perhaps playing tug-of-war or simply basking in each other's company.
A service to honor and celebrate Roscoe's life will be held on April 25, 2026, at 4:00 PM. Friends and family are welcome to gather at Richmond Heights, located at 2875 Santana Ave, to share stories, memories, and the lasting impact Roscoe had on our lives.
In a special message from the family, Shante expresses heartfelt gratitude: "Thank you to everyone who showed love before and after Roscoe's passing. I truly appreciate each and every one of you from the bottom of my heart. This has not been easy for me, but with your support, I'm getting through it."
Roscoe may have left this world, but his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. His joy, his playful spirit, and his unconditional love will continue to inspire us all. Rest in peace, dear Roscoe; you were truly a great addition to our home and to our hearts.
