It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Rosalind Hopkins-Woodside, who departed this world peacefully on April 18, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on October 14, 1956, in the charming town of Macon, Georgia, Rosalind was a beacon of love and warmth to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Rosalind was the cherished daughter of the late Karen Durham and Daniel Hopkins. Her mother Karen predeceased her, leaving behind cherished memories that Rosalind held dear. She carried forward her mother's legacy of kindness, a trait that she embodied throughout her life. A proud graduate of Southwest High School in Macon, Rosalind's life was a testament to compassion and determination. She pursued a career that allowed her to touch countless lives through her dedicated service at Tampa General Hospital in Tampa, Florida. Over her 16 years there, Rosalind was known for her kindness, genuine care, and her unwavering dedication to helping others. Family was at the core of Rosalind's existence. She was the loving mother of Deontae Hopkins (Tenisha), Kenyatta Dawson, and Laticia Dawson. Her children were her pride and joy, and her love for them knew no bounds. Rosalind was also the devoted grandmother to Kiara Hopkins and Kaitlyn Dawson, whose presence filled her life with immense joy and laughter. Rosalind is survived by her favorite brother, Charles (Bootsy) Hopkins, and his wife, Yumishae, with whom she shared a bond of laughter and unwavering support. Her sister, Arnetta King-Hopkins, was a constant source of strength and love in her life. Known for her sweet, gentle spirit, Rosalind was the epitome of love and devotion. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and the comforting aroma of her culinary creations. Rosalind had a special gift in the kitchen, where her meals were expressions of her love, bringing family and friends together. A service to celebrate Rosalind’s beautiful life will be held on April 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Aikens Funeral Home, located at 2708 E. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., Tampa, FL 33610. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, calls, texts, and other acts of kindness. They wish to express: "You are Forever in Our Hearts." As we bid farewell to Rosalind, we hold onto the love she shared and the memories she created. Though she may no longer walk among us, her spirit will forever remain a guiding light, reminding us of the power of love, kindness, and family.
