It is with profound sadness and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Rosa M. Halstied, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Rosa gently transitioned into eternal rest on April 30, 2026, at the age of 83. Her peaceful departure was surrounded by the love and cherished memories of those who held her dear. Born on February 5, 1943, in the close-knit town of Wellston, Oklahoma, Rosa was the cherished daughter of Rosie L. Halstied and James W. Halstied, Sr. Her gentle spirit was nurtured in the warmth of her family, where she learned the values of kindness, compassion, and resilience, which she carried throughout her life. Rosa was preceded in death by her devoted parents, her sister, Dorothy J. Halstied, and her brothers, Elmer Hopkins, James Halstied Jr., and Kenneth Halstied, who all await her in the heavenly embrace. Rosa's life was a testimony to the power of love and the strength of family. She leaves behind her devoted son, Anthony B. Halstied, who was her pride and joy. Her legacy of love continues through her seven cherished grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Rosa is also survived by her loving brother, Raymond Halstied, who shared in the joys and challenges of life's journey with her. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends will forever hold Rosa’s memory close to their hearts, each having been touched by her warmth and kindness. Rosa attended Douglass High School, where she formed lifelong friendships and began to shape her thoughtful and caring nature. She dedicated many years of service to the Collegiate Cap & Gown Company, where she was known for her diligence and grace. Rosa’s colleagues and friends were drawn to her gentle spirit and her ability to offer wisdom and encouragement with a compassionate heart. In her leisure time, Rosa found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved listening to music that filled her home with warmth, and she cherished family gatherings where laughter and love were abundant. Rosa had an eye for beauty and took pride in dressing elegantly, bringing comfort and joy to those around her with her calming presence. Quiet conversations, watching television, and reflecting on life's blessings were moments she cherished deeply. Above all, Rosa’s greatest joy was the love she shared with her family and friends, her heart always open and generous. Rosa will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her kind heart, and her gentle spirit. Her legacy is one of love, wisdom, and quiet resilience, qualities that endeared her to all who knew her. Her warm smile and calming presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Services to honor and celebrate the life of Rosa M. Halstied will be held on May 7, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the Earl M. Temple Memorial Chapel, located at 2801 N. Kelley Avenue, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73111. All who knew and loved Rosa are invited to join in remembrance of her extraordinary life. The family of Ms. Rosa M. Halstied wishes to express their sincere gratitude for every act of kindness, comforting word, prayer, phone call, floral arrangement, and expression of love shown during this difficult time.
