Rosa Lydia Abt November 18, 1972 – March 30, 2026 With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Rosa Lydia Abt, who departed this world on March 30, 2026, at the age of 53. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Rosa's indomitable spirit and unwavering strength were a testament to her tenacity and grace, qualities that defined her life and inspired all who knew her. Rosa was born on November 18, 1972, in the beautiful landscapes of El Salvador, a place that instilled in her a deep appreciation for family and community. From a young age, she was taught the values of kindness and resilience by her mother, Sylvia Duran, and her cherished grandmother Lydia, who predeceased her. Rosa is also preceded in death by her dear cousin Thelma, with whom she shared many fond childhood memories. In 2002, Rosa married the love of her life, Tom, and for 24 wonderful years, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they raised three incredible children: John Duran, Amanda, and Sofia, who were the light of Rosa's life. Her pride in their accomplishments and joy in their happiness were evident in every conversation. Rosa's legacy lives on through them, in the values she imparted and the love she shared. Rosa was a beacon of warmth and compassion in the lives of those she touched. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her home was always open, a place where friends and family could gather to share stories, meals, and the comfort of her presence. She had an innate ability to make everyone feel special and cherished, and her infectious smile could brighten the darkest of days. Rosa's family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the medical professionals and caregivers who supported her during her illness, offering comfort and care with genuine affection. Her battle with cancer was fought with courage and dignity, and she faced each day with an unwavering hope and gratitude for the life she lived. A service to celebrate Rosa's life will be held on April 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Rosa are invited to join in remembrance and gratitude for her remarkable journey. We will gather to honor her legacy, share stories, and find solace in the love she left behind. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Rosa's name to a cancer research foundation of your choice, continuing her fight and hope for a cure so that others may find the strength and support she received. Rosa Lydia Abt will be remembered for her boundless love, her unwavering strength, and the joy she brought into our lives. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to guide us, wrapped in the cherished memories that will forever reside in our hearts.
