Rosa's journey through life was a testament to the power of love and compassion. Though faced with challenges due to her disabilities, she attended the Louisiana State School for the Deaf in Baton Rouge, where she discovered her passion for learning.
A devoted sister, aunt, and friend. Rosa leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness. Her surviving family includes her dear sisters, Belinda Howard and Willie Mae Howard, as well as her nephews Ernest Tyrone Jones, Ernie Terrell Jones, Gerald Howard, and Daryl Howard, and her nieces Sondra (Micheal) Brownfield, Lashundria (Darrell) Foster, and Angelica Howard. Rosa also leaves behind a host of great-nieces and nephews who were precious to her.
Rosa was preceded in death by her loving parents, Walter and Lessie Howard, her brothers, Walter Howard Jr. and Robert Lee Howard, her sister, Virginia Ann Jones, a nephew, Corey Howard, and a niece, Mesha Jones. Despite these losses, Rosa's resilient spirit never wavered, and she continued to be a pillar of strength for her family.
Her life was a beautiful tapestry of connections. Throughout her life, she attended her family churches, New Prosperity Baptist Church and China Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Rosa's dedication to her faith and community was evident in her constant willingness to lend a helping hand.
In her leisure time, Rosa found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing and drawing, pursuits that allowed her to express her creativity and appreciate the beauty of the world around her. Her innate ability to make everyone feel loved and welcomed was a true gift that touched countless lives.
Rosa Lee Howard will be dearly missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life may have been marked by challenges, but it was defined by love, kindness, and the deep connections she forged with her family and friends.
