It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Rosa Benitez, a woman whose life was marked by unwavering love and dedication to her family and community. Rosa peacefully left this world on June 18, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by the comforting presence of her beloved children, grandchildren, sisters and loving daughter in law and son in law. Rosa was born on November 13, 1944, in Lindsay, California, to her loving parents, Lavina and Plutarco Banuelos, who have predeceased has well as her First child, Anthony Banuelos and her grandson JUBIE Anthony Banuelos, sisters Virginia Banuelos & Olivia Gutierrez and brother Alfred Banuelos. Despite the challenges of leaving school after the fifth grade, Rosa's life was a testament to the value of hard work, resilience, and a heart full of generosity. She devoted many years to her role as a homemaker and farm laborer, providing for her family and instilling in them the virtues of dedication and love. Rosa shared a full and busy life with her late husband, Andronico Benitez, with whom she lovingly raised a combined family of 17 children. Her children, Tommy Banuelos, Lorraine Banuelos, Larry Banuelos, Robert Fernandez, Margie Diaz, Marcelino Perez, and Gabriel Perez, survive her, carrying forward her legacy of love and unity. Rosa was also blessed with 22 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and one great great grand child and another on the way, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Her life was richly woven with interests that brought joy to her and those around her. Rosa loved the tranquility of fishing and the simple pleasure of spending time outdoors. Her hands were rarely idle, always busy with knitting with her sister Mary Banuelos or engaging in lively games of loteria and Uno, where stakes were often set with a playful spirit and a small wager. A frequent visitor at the casino, especially on her birthday Rosa never missed an opportunity to test her luck and revel in the excitement. Rosa's personality was as vibrant as it was honest. Known for her forthrightness, she sometimes needed gentle reminders to temper her candid remarks. Yet, those who knew her best understood that beneath her blunt exterior was a heart of gold. Her generosity knew no bounds, always ready to lend a helping hand to family in need or fundraisers, charities, celebrations, and especially in support of her grandchildren. She reveled in their achievements, attending their sports games with enthusiasm, always ready with words of pride and a little financial encouragement. A new member of the Visalia First Assembly Church whom her son Robert would take her and her sister Mary. Rosa found comfort and community in her faith. Her family fondly remembers how she celebrated holidays and special occasions with fervor, ensuring they were times of joy and togetherness. A service to honor Rosa's life will be held on July 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Webb Sanders and Smith Funeral Home, Lindsay, CA 93247. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Kaweah Health and their hospice team for the compassionate care provided to Rosa in her final days. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Rosa's memory to a charity of your choice, continuing her legacy of generosity and kindness. Rosa Benitez's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the lessons she imparted will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
