Ronnie Lee Radford, affectionately known to many as Buddy Andrews, passed away surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 12, 1954, in Princeton, West Virginia, Ronnie was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout his life.
The beloved son of the late Thomas and Sadie Radford, Ronnie grew up in Princeton, where he would eventually become a cherished on-air radio persona. For 14 years, he brought joy to countless listeners as Buddy Andrews on the WAEY morning radio. His voice was a staple in many homes, and his presence on the airwaves was as comforting as a dear friend.
After his radio career, Ronnie transitioned to the world of life insurance marketing, where he excelled and earned the distinguished Life Underwriter Training Council Fellow diploma. His tenure at Transamerica insurance company was marked by integrity and dedication, qualities that resonated with all who knew him.
A man of deep faith, Ronnie was a devoted member of the Countryside Baptist Church in Fruitland Park, Florida, for six years. His unshakable faith was shared with others in a quiet and gentle manner, touching the lives of many in his community. Ronnie's spiritual journey was a testament to his character, and he remained a guiding light for those around him.
Ronnie leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory. He is survived by his devoted spouse of 12 years, Sherry, who stood by his side with unwavering love and support. His children, Marie, Ron, Dustin, Matthew, Amanda and stepchildren, Deborah and Christina carry on his legacy of compassion and kindness. Ronnie was also a proud grandfather to Tara, Brian, Shane, Alexis, Lilly, Sophia and Jessica, and a great-grandfather to Ariana, Jameson Rose, Oaklynn, and Charlotte. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
A celebration of Ronnie's life will be held at Countryside Baptist Church, located at 2805 Register Road, Fruitland Park, FL 34731. The service will honor his memory and the profound impact he had on those who knew him. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available through the church's YouTube channel.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made to a charity of one's choice, in honor of Ronnie's generous spirit and enduring legacy.
