Ronald Westcott, a cherished soul born on January 8, 1967, in Manchester, Connecticut, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, after a courageous battle with terminal liver disease. He left this world surrounded by the love and comfort of his devoted family at Yale New Haven Hospital, a place that became a beacon of care and compassion in his final days. Ronald, known affectionately to many as Ron, was a man of many talents and endless charisma. He was the beloved son of the late Bernie Gail Dorr and Theodore Paul Westcott, and he found great joy and laughter in the company of his siblings, Rebecca Westcott and John Ricci, who survive him. His family tree is a testament to the love that surrounded him throughout his life, though he is predeceased by his parents, stepfather, brother, and sister. Ron's legacy is lovingly carried forward by his devoted children, daughter Kassidy Westcott and her husband Moe, and son Ronald Hine with his wife Tazia. His heart was fullest when in the presence of his four grandchildren, who were the light of his life and the continuation of his enduring spirit. His extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins will fondly remember him for his warmth and humor. Throughout his life, Ron was a dedicated and skilled self-employed contractor, known for creating beautiful works that were a testament to his craft. His career also saw him behind the wheel of tow trucks and flatbeds at various towing companies, where he was revered not only for his skill but also for his dependable nature. Ron possessed an adventurous spirit that led him to explore the world of motors, with a particular fondness for Harley Davidsons. An avid fisherman and great artist, he was equally at home in the peaceful solitude of nature and the creative expression of his art. His hobbies also included shooting and hunting, activities that brought him joy and camaraderie with friends and family. Known for his quick wit, big heart, and hilarious antics, Ron had an unparalleled ability to make anyone laugh, even on their darkest days. His love for others was unconditional, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. His presence was a gift, and he took great care in nurturing the relationships he held dear. The family will be holding a private ceremony to honor Ron's life, respecting his wishes for an intimate farewell. In lieu of flowers, the family and friends extend their heartfelt gratitude to the entire team of doctors and nurses at Yale New Haven Hospital, whose unwavering dedication and compassion provided Ron with comfort and care during his final chapter.
