Born on December 22, 1969, in Oakland, California, Ron was a man whose presence brought warmth and joy to those fortunate enough to know him. Ron was a devoted husband to Victoria McDonald, with whom he shared 14 beautiful years. Their union was blessed with two cherished children, Ari and Kaydiyn Smith. Ron's love for his family was boundless, and he took immense pride in his role as a father. He imparted wisdom, kindness, and an adventurous spirit to his children, leaving them with a legacy of love and resilience. He was a beloved brother to Buffy Smith, always making time to celebrate her achievements and share in her joy. Ron was preceded in death by his mother, Henrietta Smith, and his son, Jovaun Hardin, who both held sacred places in his heart. A man of many talents, Ron had an undeniable passion for cooking. He was fearless in the kitchen, continually experimenting with new recipes and harboring dreams of opening his own food truck or bistro named in honor of his mother and son. His culinary aspirations were a testament to his creativity and love for sharing joy through food. Ron was an avid sports enthusiast, especially fond of football and basketball. He cherished the moments spent teaching his son, Kaydiyn, to ride a bike and instilled in him a sense of wonder and positivity about the world. His energy was infectious, and his presence in any room brought a sense of greatness and warmth. Known for his remarkable wit and generous spirit, Ron had an exceptional ability to make people smile. His selflessness and dedication to helping others were hallmarks of his character. Whether cracking a joke to lighten the mood or simply being there when needed, Ron's kindness and empathy were ever-present. Though Ron faced health challenges, including a battle with Crohn's disease and H.S., his spirit remained unyielding. His final illness came as a surprise, but his strength and determination to recover were a testament to his enduring will. In addition to his immediate family, Ron leaves behind in-laws Charlene and Gary McDonald, three beloved grandchildren, and close friends Tanya K. and Christopher Williams, who will carry forward his memory with love and affection. A private funeral service will be held to honor Ron's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Ron's memory to a charity of your choice.
