Ronald “Ron” L. Wetzler Jr.

March 14, 1972 — May 17, 2026

Ronald "Ron" L. Wetzler Jr., a man who embraced life with warmth, courage, and a heart full of love, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on March 14, 1972, in Chesterfield, VA, Ron was the cherished son of the late Ronald "Ronnie" and Linda Wetzler. He now joins them, along with his beloved grandparents, Ralph and Joyce Wetzler, in eternal rest. Ron was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in the love and laughter shared with his family. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lisa, who stood by his side through the beautiful journey they crafted together. Their union in 2001 marked a new chapter filled with devotion and companionship. From his first marriage to Theresa in 1992, Ron was blessed with three wonderful children: Rodney, Robert "Taylor", and Savannah. His heart expanded with love as he welcomed Lisa's children—Brandon and Chelsey—into his life, embracing them as his own. Ron was a proud and affectionate father and stepfather, always offering guidance, support, and a listening ear. Ron relished his role as PawPaw, a title he wore with immense pride. His six grandchildren—Everlee, Ryland, Freya, Oaklee, Tillee, and Ares—were the light of his life. He cherished every moment spent with them, whether it was sharing stories, fishing adventures, or simply basking in their laughter. He is survived by a family who adored him deeply: his wife Lisa; children Rodney (Kaitlyn), Robert “Taylor”, Savannah (David); stepchildren Brandon and Chelsey (Logan); and his precious grandchildren. His legacy continues through his stepmother, Linda, and his siblings Sharon, Ray, and Richard (Patricia). In his professional life, Ron served in the US Army Cavalry, where he demonstrated bravery and dedication to his country. His service was a testament to his character—a man of honor and unwavering resolve. Beyond his commitments, Ron was a man of simple pleasures. He found solace in the tranquil waters of Hatteras Island, where he would often fish, losing track of time as he connected with nature. His love for woodwork was not just a hobby but a form of expression, crafting pieces that will forever hold his spirit. Friends and family knew Ron as a kind-hearted soul, always ready with a smile and a helping hand. His presence was a source of comfort and joy, and his laughter could light up any room. A private funeral service will be held on June 28, 2026, at 14:00 at C.T Purcell, where family and close friends will gather to honor his life and bid farewell to a man who left an indelible mark on their hearts. Ronald "Ron" L. Wetzler Jr. will be remembered for his deep love for his family, his unwavering loyalty to friends, and the quiet strength with which he faced life’s challenges. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know him.
