Ronald Ray Snow

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Ronald Ray Snow, who departed this world peacefully in his sleep on July 31, 2026, at the age of 73. Born on March 4, 1953, in the vibrant town of Gallup, New Mexico, Ronald was a beacon of integrity, devotion, and kindness throughout his life. Ronald was the beloved son of Melvin Benjamin Snow and Verna Arlene (Mason) Snow, who instilled in him values of hard work and compassion. Though he has now joined his parents and his dear brothers, Micheal Jay Snow and Thomas Dean Snow, in eternal rest, his legacy continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those he left behind. A devoted husband, Ronald married the love of his life, Fern Aline (DeVaney) Snow, on December 26, 1971, in a ceremony filled with love and hope at her parents' home near Cedarville, New Mexico. Their bond was a testament to unwavering love and companionship, and together they shared many cherished moments, especially their shared passion for fishing. Ronald was a dedicated family man, and his heart swelled with pride for his two grandchildren, who brought immense joy into his life. He is also survived by his loving sister, Christell Gaye (Snow) Higgs, who remained a close confidante and an unwavering pillar of support throughout his life. An alumnus of Rio Grande High School in Albuquerque, Ronald pursued higher education at Texas A&M University. However, drawn by the call of duty and opportunity, he left college to embark on a career with Consolidated Freight Lines. After five years of diligent work in the freight industry, Ronald found his true calling in public service, joining the Texas Department of Public Safety as a State Trooper. Over an illustrious 33-year career, he ascended to the rank of Captain, earning the respect and admiration of colleagues and the community alike. Beyond his professional achievements, Ronald was deeply committed to his faith. As an active member of a local non-denominational church, he lived his life in accordance with the teachings of Jesus Christ, serving God and his community with fervor and dedication. His contributions to the Zephyr Cemetery Association and his role as an election clerk underscored his unwavering commitment to civic duty. As we gather to celebrate Ronald's life, we invite family and friends to join us for a service on July 31, 2026, at 10:20 a.m. at the Zephyr Cemetery, located at 4911 County Road 259, Zephyr, TX 76890. It will be a time to honor a life well-lived, to share stories of his kindness and humor, and to find solace in the love he left behind.
