July 9, 1948 — October 6, 2026

In loving memory of Ronald Ray Flood, who passed away on October 6, 2026, at Jackson Madison County Hospital after a sudden illness. Ronald was born on July 9, 1948, in the charming town of Paris, Tennessee, to his beloved parents, Galvin and Sunshine Flood. His journey through life was marked by his remarkable spirit, steadfast love for his family, and a genuine zest for life that touched all who knew him. Ronald was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Randy and Ricky Flood, his sister Anna Swegman, his brother Dale Flood, his first wife of 45 years, Shela Flood, and his cherished grandson, Zayden Flood. Though their absence was deeply felt, Ronald continued to honor their memories with stories and laughter, living his life with the warmth and kindness they instilled in him. Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Burdett Flood, whom he married on August 12, 2017. Together, they created a home filled with love and laughter. He leaves behind his devoted daughter, LeAnn (John Mark) Dudenhofer, and his son, Jonathan (Rebecca) Flood, who will carry forth his legacy of compassion and humor. His stepson, Blake Shobe, and his grandchildren Sophie Michelle Dudenhofer, Alexis Kate Dudenhofer, Zane Ray Flood, and Zachariah Ryaan Flood were the lights of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them. For 19 years, Ronald dedicated himself to his work at South Clay, where he was not just an employee, but a friend and confidant to many. His colleagues remember him for his infectious laughter and his ability to turn even the most mundane moments into something extraordinary with a joke or a story. Outside of work, Ronald was a man of simple pleasures. He found joy in the great outdoors, whether he was hunting, fishing, or simply working in his yard. His little dog, SpongeBob, was his constant companion, bringing him endless joy and comfort. Ronald will be remembered for his laughter, his warm smile, and his unwavering love for his family. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and heard, and he had a natural talent for storytelling that brought people together. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of knowing him. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Ronald's honor. This gesture will continue his legacy of kindness and generosity, reflecting his lifelong commitment to helping others. As we remember Ronald, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and countless memories that will forever remain in our hearts.
