It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald R. Dubois, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on April 1, 2026, at the age of 68. Born on February 19, 1958, in the charming town of St. Pierre, Manitoba, Ron’s life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and love—a life fully and beautifully lived. Ron was the cherished son of the late Marcel Dubois and Eveline Faucher, who instilled in him the values of hard work and compassion. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Albert & Florence Dubois and Gerard and Alice Faucher, whose legacies he carried forward with pride. From the moment Ron met his beloved wife, Gisele, it was clear they were destined for a long, fulfilling journey together. Married on July 8, 1978, at the Precious Blood Cathedral in St. Boniface, Winnipeg, Manitoba, they shared an inspiring 50-year union filled with love, laughter, and many adventures. Their love story was one that radiated warmth and taught all who knew them about the true meaning of partnership. Ron was a devoted father to his children, Angele, Daniel, Philippe (Sabrina), and Julien (Amy), nurturing them with endless patience, wisdom, and encouragement. He had a special bond with his grandson, Samuel Dubois, who brought immeasurable joy into his life. Ron’s passion for learning was evident in his academic achievements. He graduated from Lethbridge Community College in 1980 with a diploma in Conservation Enforcement and later pursued his interest in business by obtaining a second diploma, with honors, in Business Management from Success Business College in 1996. His professional journey was diverse, reflecting his versatility and commitment to serving others. Ron began his career as a transit operator with Edmonton Transit from 1981 to 1990, followed by a brief stint as a long-haul truck driver between 1991 and 1993. He found his calling as a Park Ranger with Manitoba Natural Resources from 1992 to 1996, where he connected deeply with nature. Ron later embarked on an 11-year career with Convergys call center, excelling in various roles until 2007. In 2008, he returned to his roots as a transit operator with Winnipeg Transit, where he worked until his retirement in 2017. Ron’s love for the outdoors was a defining aspect of his life. Many cherished memories were made during family camping trips across Manitoba’s beautiful landscapes. In retirement, he embraced his creative side, delving into historical novels and completing over 200 paint-by-numbers paintings—a testament to his meticulous nature and appreciation for art. A service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held at Desjardins Funeral Services, located at 357 DES MEURONS ST, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Winnipeg Humane Society, a cause close to Ron’s heart. As we say goodbye to Ron, we remember him as a man of integrity, warmth, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the beauty of the eternal outdoors he so loved.
