It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Ronald R Dubois, a cherished husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, on April 1, 2026, at the age of 68. Ron passed peacefully surrounded by the love of his family, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on February 19, 1958, in St. Pierre, Manitoba, Ron was the beloved son of Marcel Dubois and Eveline Faucher, who preceded him in death. Growing up in the heart of Manitoba, Ron developed a deep appreciation for the natural beauty of the land, a passion which shaped much of his personal and professional life. Ron’s journey of life led him to St. Boniface, Winnipeg, where he married the love of his life, Gisele, on July 8, 1978. Together, they built a beautiful life, raising four wonderful children—Angele, Daniel, Philippe (Sabrina), and Julien (Amy). Ron’s family was his pride and joy, and he delighted in spending quality time with them, whether it was through the adventures of camping trips or the simple joys of shared meals and stories. His grandson, Samuel, was the light of his later years, bringing immense joy and laughter to Ron’s life. A dedicated professional, Ron pursued education with enthusiasm and commitment. He graduated from Lethbridge Community College in 1980 with a diploma in Conservation Enforcement, and later, in 1996, he earned a second diploma with honors in Business Management from Success Business College. His career was diverse, reflecting his adaptability and passion for serving his community. Ron initially worked as a transit operator with Edmonton Transit from 1981 to 1990, followed by a brief period as a long-haul truck driver and a park ranger with Manitoba Natural Resources. He spent 11 years with Convergys, where his leadership skills shone as he advanced to the role of Production Manager. In 2008, Ron returned to his roots in transit operations with Winnipeg Transit, where he worked until his retirement in 2017. In retirement, Ron embraced his love for the outdoors and his passion for reading historical novels and painting. He found tranquility in nature and creativity, often sharing these moments with his beloved family. His legacy is one of love, resilience, and a warm heart that touched everyone who knew him. Ron is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Gisele, his children, Angele, Daniel, Philippe (Sabrina), and Julien (Amy), his sisters, Michelle Major and Rikki Dubois, and his cherished grandson, Samuel Dubois. Though his parents have passed, the lessons they imparted and the love they shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held at Desjardins Funeral Services, located at 357 Des Meurons St, Winnipeg, Manitoba. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, in honor of Ron’s love for animals and his compassionate spirit. Ronald R Dubois will be remembered as a man of integrity, warmth, and unwavering love for his family and community. His spirit will continue to inspire all who knew him, and he will be dearly missed. Rest in peace, dear Ron. Your journey has left an indelible mark on our hearts.
