It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Neil Steiner, lovingly known as Ron, who left us on July 3, 2026, at his home in Bellingham, Washington, surrounded by the comfort of his family. Born on October 24, 1946, in Seattle, Washington, Ron lived a life filled with love, warmth, and adventure, leaving a legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Ron was the beloved first son of Eleanor and Albert Steiner, who preceded him in death, along with his brother Larry and his previous wife, Marcela. His life was a testament to the enduring bonds of family and friendship. Ron is survived by his devoted wife, Patricia (Patty). Together, they shared a journey of love and companionship, marrying in 2014 and creating a welcoming home in Bellingham, WA, for nearly a decade.
Ron was a guiding light to his stepdaughters, Lynn Garka (Steve) and Richelle Reed, and a cherished grandfather to six grandchildren: Stephen Garka (Kristin), Danielle Garka Vache' (Julien), Desiree Vahdati (Chris), Riley Brennon, Peyton Reed-Henderson, and Blake Reed-Henderson, and six great-grandchildren.
A dedicated member of the Center for Spiritual Living in Bellingham, Ron found joy and solace in this community, serving on the Board of Directors and forging lasting friendships. His faith and spirituality were cornerstones of his character, guiding him throughout his life.
Ron’s life was marked by service and dedication, from his honorable service in the U.S. Army from 1964 to 1967, including a tour in Korea, to his career as a Production Manager at Eldec in Lynnwood, WA. He was a man of integrity and perseverance, known for his quiet strength and remarkable ability to connect with others.
Ron was passionate about sports, particularly baseball, a love that began in grade school and continued as he coached his stepdaughter Lynn’s softball team. A dedicated fan of the Mariners, Seahawks, and Sonics, Ron's enthusiasm for sports was infectious. He found joy in the arts, attending jazz concerts and plays, and traveled extensively with Patty across the U.S., Canada, and Europe, embracing each adventure with open arms. His zest for life, family, friends, and spiritual growth was evident in every endeavor he pursued. His gentle soul and loving nature touched countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
A celebration of Ron's life will be held on October 4, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at the Center for Spiritual Living in Bellingham, WA, located at 2224 Yew Street Rd. The family warmly invites friends and loved ones to bring a potluck dish and share a favorite memory of Ron, honoring the beautiful life he led.
Ron will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a beacon of love and kindness. His spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who knew him.
