Ronald Lewis Wetzler Jr
March 14, 1972 — May 16, 2026
In loving memory of Ronald Lewis Wetzler Jr., a cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved grandfather, who passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026, at the age of 54. Born on March 14, 1972, in Richmond, Virginia, Ron graced this world with kindness, strength, and a spirit that touched everyone he met.
Ron was the beloved son of the late Ronald L. Wetzler Sr. and Linda Wetzler. He was also predeceased by his grandparents, Ralph and Joyce Wetzler, whom he held dearly in his heart. Though his parents have passed, Ron's memory lives on through the stories and values they instilled in him.
A proud graduate of Meadowbrook High School in 1991, Ron went on to serve his country with honor and dedication in the United States Army. His service was a testament to his unwavering commitment to protecting and serving others, a theme that would echo throughout his life.
In 1992, Ron married his high-school sweetheart, Theresa, with whom he shared the joy of raising three beautiful children. His deep love for family was a cornerstone of his life. Later, Ron found love once more and married Lisa Wetzler, with whom he shared 24 wonderful years filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Ron found fulfillment in his career at Allied Well and Drilling, where he was known not only for his expertise and hard work but also for his mentorship and camaraderie with colleagues. He was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life, none more so than fishing and spending time with his cherished grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Lisa, and his children: Rodney D. Wetzler and wife Kaitlyn, Taylor Wetzler, and daughter Savannah Varner and husband David. He is also survived by his daughter Chesley Buie and husband Logan. Ron's legacy is further carried on by his six adored grandchildren, who will forever remember their grandfather as a guiding light and playful spirit.
Ron leaves behind his mother, Linda Wetzler, who provided him with a foundation of love and support throughout his life. He is also survived by two brothers, Ray Moore and Richard Walker, and one sister, Sharon, who shared in the joys and challenges of life together with Ron, creating memories that will endure.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Ron's life and legacy at a service on June 28, 2026, at 2:01 PM. It will be a time to honor a man who lived with integrity, compassion, and an ever-present smile, a man who will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Ron’s memory to a charity of choice, reflecting his generous spirit and desire to make the world a better place.
As we say goodbye to Ron, we cherish the memories he created, the lives he touched, and the love he shared. His life was a testament to the power of family, friendship, and faith, and his spirit will continue to inspire all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
