Ronald Joseph Morin
June 22, 1943 — March 28, 2026
It is with profound sadness and loving memories that we announce the peaceful passing of Ronald Joseph Morin, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, on March 28, 2026, at the age of 82. Ronald, affectionately known to many as "Ron," was born on June 22, 1943, in New Bedford, Massachusetts. He was the cherished son of the late Ovila D. and Olga (Medeiros) Morin.
Ronald was a devoted family man whose life was a testament to love, laughter, and the joy of simple pleasures. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Sharon (Lindberg) Morin, whom he married on March 11, 1972. Together, they built a life filled with warmth and generosity, welcoming everyone into their home with open arms and open hearts.
His legacy continues through his children: his son, Christopher L. Morin, and his companion, Erika Wharton, of Oxford, MA; his daughter, Shari-Ann Murphy, and her companion, Wesley Boxwell, of Wales, MA; and his daughter-in-law, Paul Murphy, of Woonsocket, RI. He was also a loving father-in-law to Karen Janeczek and her husband John of New York. Ronald was the proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Kyle Ronald Janeczek and his wife Kayla, Christopher J. Morin, Jax Xavier Lee Morin, Grayeson Wharton, Trevor Janeczyk, Joshua Janeczyk, Alex Kruzel-Boxwell, and Logan Kruzel-Boxwell. He was also blessed with a great-grandson, Theodore James Janeczek, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Ronald was predeceased by his siblings, Raymond Morin, Annette Morin, Kenneth Morin, Marlene Fish, Paul Morin, and Vivian Frank, and now joins them in eternal rest.
A graduate of Johnson & Wales in Rhode Island, Ronald pursued his passion for culinary arts, crafting delicious meals as a chef at several renowned restaurants in the Boston area. His love for cooking was only rivaled by his love for fishing, a pastime that provided him peace and reflection.
Ronald's interests were wide and varied, including a keen appreciation for antiques, a vast collection of spoons and china, and a particular fondness for sunflowers. His love for babies was a reflection of his nurturing spirit, as he was a father figure to many, always ready with a kind word and a helping hand. Known as the "fun guy," Ronald was the uncle who would delight his family with unexpected gifts, like a drum set, bringing music and joy to their lives.
Ronald's laughter was infectious, his spirit indomitable, and his heart as big as the ocean he loved to fish. He gave love freely and was loved deeply in return. His family and friends will forever cherish the memories of his warmth, generosity, and the light he brought into their lives.
In accordance with Ronald's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor his life and legacy. The family appreciates your understanding and invites you to remember Ronald in your own special way, perhaps by sharing a meal with loved ones or casting a line into the water.
Though he is no longer with us, Ronald's spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of love and laughter will be carried forward by those who had the privilege of sharing in his remarkable journey.
May Ronald Joseph Morin rest in peace, knowing he was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
