Ronald departed this life on February 27, 2026, at the age of 81, after valiantly battling the devastating aftermath of a fire that ravaged his home. Born on January 1, 1945, in Brooklyn, New York, Ronald's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering commitment to family and community.
Ronald was the cherished son of the late Leavern Willie Guess and Bertha Marie Guess, who instilled in him the values of integrity, hard work, and compassion. He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Larry Terrell Brown, whose memory he carried dearly in his heart.
A devoted husband, Ronald shared a beautiful love story with his wife, Betty Linda Guess. Their journey together began in the early 1980s, and their union was a sanctuary of laughter, loyalty, and enduring love. Together, they faced life's joys and trials, their bond growing stronger with each passing year. The couple was blessed with their beloved son, Larry, whose untimely passing in 2013 was met with profound grief but also strengthened their reliance on faith and each other.
Ronald's commitment to education was unwavering. A lifelong learner, he pursued his academic goals with passion and excellence, earning advanced degrees and recognition for his intellectual prowess. His sharp mind and thoughtful insight made him a respected mentor and guide, always willing to share his wisdom and knowledge with those around him.

As a proud grandfather to Katrece Brown-Guess, Alliyah Brown-Guess, and Carol Guess, and great-grandfather to Kairo Latrell Brown, he relished in nurturing and guiding the next generation. His presence was a source of comfort and strength, his love an enduring legacy.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife, Betty Linda Guess; sisters Jane-Ann Guess, Loretta Winfrey Guess, and Pairys Botchie Guess; brother Jaime Lynx Guess; daughter-in-law Yolanda Chambers; and a host of relatives and friends who cherished him dearly.
A man of quiet confidence and unyielding integrity, Ronald's warmth, generosity, and compassion left an indelible impact on all who knew him. He was a pillar of strength and a beacon of light, whose memory will continue to inspire and guide us.
The family invites you to join them in celebrating Ronald's life on March 4, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at Harmony Funeral Home, 2200 Clarendon Road, Brooklyn, New York.
