Ronald Eugene Mayfield,Jr.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ronald Eugene Mayfield, Jr., affectionately known as "Jr," who departed this life peacefully on July 14, 2026, at the age of 51. Born on October 2, 1974, Ronald was a beacon of love and generosity to all who knew him. Growing up in a warm and nurturing family, Jr was the cherished son of Ronald Eugene Mayfield, Sr. and Maxine Branch Lacy. He attended S.S. Dillow Elementary, William James Junior High, and Poly High School, where he laid the foundation for a life dedicated to family and community. After retiring early from the Star Telegram, Jr embarked on a journey of self-employment, channeling his industrious spirit into endeavors that allowed him to spend more time with his loved ones. A devoted father and grandfather, Jr's heart overflowed with pride and joy for his children, Aa'Nyiah Mayfield, Natasha Mayfield, and Jabrelon Cleveland, and his treasured grandchildren, Dior Denise, Jai'loni, and Kentaron. His family was his greatest achievement and joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. Jr's passion for life extended beyond his family. He was an avid sports fan, fervently supporting his beloved Dallas Cowboys and indulging in his love for basketball. His culinary skills were renowned among family and friends, who often gathered around his table to enjoy his delicious meals. A man of faith, Jr attended Faith Christian Center, where he found solace and community. His generosity and kindness were felt by all who crossed his path, exemplifying the true spirit of Christian love. He leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion, survived by his devoted parents, Ronald Eugene Mayfield, Sr. (Denise) and Maxine Branch Lacy (Micheal); his beloved children and grandchildren; his brothers, Toney Walker, Andrae Mayfield, Felix Mayfield, and Brian Mayfield; and his sisters, Ethel Steele and Ronette Mayfield. His extended family, nieces, nephews, and countless friends also mourn his loss. A celebration of Jr's life will be held on July 31, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Highland Park Baptist Church, located at 1317 Baltimore Ave., Fort Worth, TX, 76104. The Mayfield family is deeply grateful to Highland Park Baptist Church for their generous support and to Harris Hospital for their dedicated care. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Jr's memory, honoring his spirit of giving and compassion.
