August 6, 1942 — May 2, 2026

It is with heavy hearts yet profound gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Ronald Ernest Kite on May 2, 2026. Born on August 6, 1942, in Canadian, Texas, Ronald was the cherished son of Don and Lois Kite. He was a beacon of strength, love, and integrity to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Ronald's journey began in the quiet town of Canadian, where he spent his formative years before graduating from Tascosa High School in Amarillo in 1960. He then pursued higher education at West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas, earning his Bachelor's Degree in 1964. Shortly thereafter, Ronald responded to his country's call, serving honorably in the US Army Reserve from 1964 to 1970. In September 1966, Ronald married the love of his life, Helen Fern Kruse. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and mutual respect, lasting until Helen's passing in 1999. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, love, and a shared commitment to their family and faith. Ronald dedicated over 40 years of his professional life to the Office of Inspector General, where he served as an auditor for Housing and Urban Development. His career was marked by diligence, integrity, and a commitment to excellence, traits that endeared him to colleagues and friends alike. A man of profound faith, Ronald was an active member of The Church of Christ, where he served as a deacon and later as an elder at Boston Street. His contributions to the church were as much about his generous spirit as his leadership, offering both financial support and personal service to ease the burdens of others. Family was the cornerstone of Ronald's life. His love for his family was evident in all he did, from working tirelessly to support them to the joy he found in spoiling his grandchildren, Peter Jerry Kite and Brittany Elizabeth Kite, with whom he shared countless cherished moments. Ronald's legacy continues through his surviving family: daughter-in-law April Beth Kite, son Jerry Duane Kite and wife Jennifer Diane Kite. Preceded in death by his beloved wife Helen, his parents Don and Lois, siblings Leon, Donald Wayne, and Francis Eugene Kite, and his son Terry Ron Kite, Ronald faced life's challenges with grace and resilience, always guided by a steadfast faith and an unwavering commitment to those he loved. Ronald is remembered for his remarkable organizational skills, always planning the next steps in life with precision. His generosity was legendary, and he would often insist on paying the bill at meals, his quick wit and serious demeanor making him a beloved presence in any gathering. A celebration of Ronald's life will be held on May 28, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Olinger Highland Mortuary - Cemetery, 10201 Grant St., Thornton, CO 80229. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life that touched so many, to share stories, and to honor a man whose legacy will endure in the hearts of all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Church of Christ or a charity of your choice, in keeping with Ronald's lifelong dedication to service and generosity. May his memory be a blessing, and his spirit continue to inspire us all.
