Ronald Edward Schutte (Bud)

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ronald Edward Schutte, affectionately known as Bud, who left this world on March 17, 2026, at the age of 90, after a courageous battle with his failing heart. Bud passed away surrounded by the warmth and affection of his beloved family, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and an indelible mark on all who knew him. Born on November 17, 1935, in the charming town of Gilroy, California, Bud was the cherished son of Joseph Cyril and Helen (Silva) Schutte. From an early age, Bud exhibited an insatiable curiosity and a zest for life that would define his journey. A proud alumnus of Santa Clara University in California, Bud's academic pursuits were only the beginning of a life filled with learning and adventure. In service to his country, Bud proudly donned the uniform of a United States Marine, embodying the courage and dedication that defined his character. Following his military service, Bud found his calling as an electrician, where his exceptional skills and entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish his own successful company, from which he retired with pride. Bud's life was rich with passions, one of which was his love for Mercedes-Benz Gullwings. His zeal for these magnificent vehicles was unparalleled, as he meticulously worked on, rebuilt, and even raced them. This enthusiasm was a testament to his remarkable ability to turn dreams into reality. At the heart of Bud's life was his treasured family. He leaves behind his devoted wife of 47 years, Naomi, whose unwavering support and love were the foundation of their beautiful life together. Bud was a proud father to his daughters, Arleen Dunn, Samantha Schutte, and Karla Jamerson, each of whom carries forward his legacy of strength and kindness. His grandchildren, Zach and Tyler Dunn, Chris Duncan, Megan Pena, and her sisters Natasha and Sophia Dunn, along with Desiree Fisher's children, Brandon Fisher and Amanda White, were his pride and joy. Bud's lineage continues through his great-grandson, Tyson Pena, who brought him immense happiness and hope for the future. Bud was a man of many talents, but his culinary skills were perhaps the most cherished by his family. Known for his ability to create magic in the kitchen, he shared his love for cooking with his daughters, passing down recipes and techniques that will be treasured for generations. Naomi fondly recalls him as the "World's Best Handyman," a title he wore with pride as he taught his daughters the invaluable skill of self-sufficiency. Renowned for his photographic memory, Bud could recall details with astonishing clarity, a trait that amazed all who knew him. His sharp wit and infectious sense of humor brought joy and laughter to every gathering, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Bud's legacy is one of resilience, love, and unwavering dedication to his family and passions. His life was a testament to the belief that one could achieve anything with humor, hard work, and a heart full of love. As we bid farewell to this remarkable man, we hold tight to the memories he gifted us, grateful for the time we were privileged to share. A celebration of Bud's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to honor his extraordinary journey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to organizations supporting veterans, in memory of Bud's service and sacrifice. Though his earthly presence will be deeply missed, Bud's spirit will forever remain in our hearts, guiding us with the same love and laughter that defined his beautiful life.
