Born on July 25, 1964, in Parma, Ohio, Ron was the beloved son of Richard and Helen DeVera, who instilled in him the values of kindness and generosity that he carried throughout his life.
Ron shared an extraordinary journey of love and companionship with his wife, Julia DeVera, to whom he was married on August 3, 2002, in their hometown of Parma, Ohio. Together, they created a home filled with warmth and joy, raising four exceptional children: Maria, Samuel, Aaron, and Sophia DeVera. Their home was a haven of laughter, a place where each family member felt cherished and celebrated. Ron’s dedication as a husband and father was unwavering, and his love for his family was the cornerstone of his life.
A proud graduate of Parma Senior High School in 1982, Ron furthered his education at Kent State University, where he earned a Master's degree as a Certified Fraud Examiner in 1998. His commitment to justice and ethical standards led him to a distinguished 25-year career with the Federal Government, where he made significant contributions as a Certified Fraud Examiner. Renowned for his unwavering integrity, Ron was respected by colleagues and peers alike.
Ron also served his country with honor, dedicating four years to the US Army from 1982 to 1986 as an infantryman. His military service was a reflection of his deep commitment to serving a cause greater than himself, and he carried the lessons of discipline and camaraderie with him throughout his life.
An active member of the Nazarene Church for many years, Ron's faith was a guiding light that shaped his actions and interactions. He was known for his quick wit and warm smile, always ready with a joke to lighten any mood and a kind word to uplift those around him. His ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued was a testament to his compassionate nature and generous spirit.
Ron leaves behind a legacy of love that continues to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. In addition to his devoted wife Julia and their children, Ron is survived by a loving extended family and many dear friends who will miss him profoundly.
