Ronald Dwight Gardner, known affectionately as Dwight to all who loved him, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 56, after a courageous battle with illness. Born on August 6, 1970, in Anniston, Alabama, Dwight was a beacon of love and strength to his family and friends. Dwight was the beloved son of the late Alfred and Scharlotte Gardner, and was predeceased by his cherished son, Jeremy Gardner, and his dear siblings, John Daniel Gardner, Jeannie Gardner Ripka, and Rachael Gardner, as well as his nephew, Christopher Wayne Ripka. Despite the profound losses in his life, Dwight's spirit remained unbroken, and he found solace and joy in the love of his surviving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Candy Gardner, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Together, they raised a family filled with love and laughter. Dwight was the proud father of Jamie, Jordan, Brittany, Bradley, Danielle, Kaylean, and Dori, and he delighted in watching his children grow and thrive. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Kylie, Braxton, Zayden, Cohen, Kimberlynn, Brody, River, Rain, Leon, Grae, Saige, Liam, and Emma, who brought him endless joy and pride. Dwight's siblings, Jerome Anthony Gardner (Marci), Debra Coleman (Donald), Kenneth Gardner, Edward Gardner, and Leroy Gardner (Priscilla), were not only his family but also his closest friends. Together, they shared countless memories and adventures, supporting each other through life's journey. Dwight's home was always open, a gathering place for family to come together, strengthen bonds, and create memories. An enthusiast of vehicles, Dwight found great pleasure in tinkering and working on various automobiles, with a special fondness for his Dodge Demon. He spent many joyful days at the river in Ohatchee, swimming, fishing, and camping with his kids while they were young, often joined by his extended family. These moments created a tapestry of cherished memories that his family will hold dear forever. Dwight was a man of simple pleasures, a good heart, and unwavering love for his family. He was always ready to lend a hand to his siblings on various projects, embodying the essence of family unity and support. Though he had his faults, as we all do, his love and dedication to his family were unwavering, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
